Genny, founder of Genny’s Butterfly Effect, created this brand from a deeply personal journey rooted in culture, resilience, and restoration.

As a Dominican woman with naturally curly hair,

 She grew up surrounded by traditional hair rituals — oils warming on the stove, natural remedies passed down through generations, and the belief that healthy hair begins at the root. Yet like many women, she felt the pressure to straighten, color, and alter her natural texture — eventually leaving her hair severely damaged.

 

What began as a mission to heal her own curls became an intentional pursuit of knowledge. Genny immersed herself in ingredient research, Ayurvedic practices, and time-honored Caribbean traditions to create formulas that nourish the scalp, strengthen strands, and restore natural beauty without compromise.
